2009 Con Critters Are Here For You
January 5, 2009

If you started your con critter collection last year, we've posted the 2009 series on the Registration page! If you were a bit slow in deciding in 2008 then you're painfully aware how quickly they sell out. These cute 10'' plush critters are wearing their own mini All-Con 2009 convention t-shirt featuring the ConGirl art by Johnathon Caustrita. The 2009 collection features a tiger cub, panda bear, alligator, kitten, moose, and cow. Start a new trend in 2009 -- Find Johnathon at the convention and have him sign your critter's shirt! These little friends are a constant reminder that there's always something great to look forward to at All-Con!

Start The Trend And Make New Friends!
January 4, 2009

They're called "Hall Games". Every convention has them. Like a great social network, all it takes is the initiation of a popular game with "easy joins" and people will wander into your game. Some of the more popular hall games are The Great Dalmuti and Werewolf. Attacktix open-play can be accomplished on nearly any table, floor, or flat surface. Games with fairly quick rounds are inviting for new players to join in. If you want to help build a convention community and meet like-minded fans, hall games are an excellent way to begin.

Save Money: Register Early!
January 2, 2009

If you're coming to convention anyway, why not register online right now and save $5.00? It's easier than having to write a check, mail in a registration form, and paying $5.00 more. Booking your hotel room before February 13th will also get you the convention rate of $86 per night - a real savings over what it will cost you after February 13th! Once more: "Do It Now = Save Money. Do it later = No Money Saved.'' The Hotel phone number is: 972-980-8877 and the booking code is: ACF. The online registration page can be found here. Either way, we look forward to seeing you at All-Con in March!

Los Bastardos: Recruiting!
January 1, 2009

You've seen the Los Bastardos cast perform the Rocky Horror picture show at All-Con since 2006. You probably also know that they perform on Friday and Saturday nights in Fort Worth. What you DIDN'T know is that the cast is recruiting new members right now! Imagine, you up there living the dream in front of audiences! Well, stop playing the part of 'audience', put on the outfit from your favorite scene and go BE SOMEBODY. If you're at least 17 you can find out more at www.LosBastardos.com.

Roller Derby Calendar
December 1, 2008

The women of Assassination City's Women's Roller Derby League have a 2009 calendar that every red and green blooded fan boy is going to put on their Christmas list this year. March is All-Con month, and the March photo is one of beauty. Buy a calendar today and bring it to the convention to have it autographed by team members! What a great pretext to go and chat with the roller derby women!

Hotel Rooms - Convention Rate
November 14, 2008

Staying at the Crowne Plaza for the convention? The hotel has activated the 2009 booking code for your convention discount! (Please remember that the discount is only good for rooms reserved before February 13, 2009.) Your credit card isn't charged for the room until you check out in March, so reserve early (TODAY!). If you forget it'll cost you more later. 1-800-972-2518 and use booking code: ACF.

A Serious Look At Music Copyright
November 13, 2008

All-Con has been contacted by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers regarding the performance (or playback) of copyrighted music at public events. We have been reminded that "...the performance of any copyrighted music in a public establishment must have the permission of the copyright owner, that is, the songwriter or publisher." All-Con takes this matter very seriously and will enforce a zero tolerance approach to activites (including open-entry events such as: cosplay, anime music video competition, video room submissions, etc.) If you have any questions about whether or not your content falls within the scope of ASCAP, please visit their website: www.ascap.com. Thank you for helping us to respect and obey copyright law.

Dinner With Roller Derby Women
November 4, 2008

It's OFFICIAL! The Assassination City Women's Roller Derby League is having their second annual league dinner at All-Con and YOU'RE INVITED! Pick a seat near you favorite derby girl and try out your best well-mannered fanboy moves on her. (Buy her a dessert or a couple of drinks if you really want to impress her.) There's no cover to come to dinner... but you will have to order something to eat if you're going to sit in the restaurant where it's all happening.

First Flyer Available
August 27, 2008

The first flyer for 2009 is significant in that it announces Burton Gilliam as our third guest for the upcoming convention in March, along with the first official appearance our new Con Girl for 2009 (by Jonathon Caustrita the creator of Tiki Coladas) and even gives an inside peek into some of the plans for the next convention. Enjoy!

First Two Celebs On-Board for 2009
August 25, 2008

We receive celebrity requests from time to time and we do what we can to accommodate the public since ultimately it is 'you' who makes the convention worthwhile. Last spring we received an unusually heavy load of emails all *demanding* that we invite the incomparable John Billingsley, and today we are thrilled to announce that John is coming to All-Con in March!

Accompanying John is the beautiful and talented Bonita Friedericy, best know for role as General Beckman on Chuck, even though her acting credits span 10 years of television and film!

If you have never been in the presence of the energy of these two masterminds, you're in for a treat at All-Con.

Rocky Horror Picture Show: 2009
July 5, 2008

The Troup is Los Bastardos and they have over 10 years as a cast performing in front of the big screen! 2009 is their fouth year to entertain you at All-Con. Check them out Friday March 13th at 11:00p.m. to warm up for the midnight spectacular! Can't get enough Rocky? Cast members will be moderating and presenting panels throughout the weekend. Watch the schedule as specifics are posted.

Roller Derby Team Dinner
June 29, 2008

Today the ladies of Assassination City our home Women's Roller Derby League will be meeting. On their agenda is the proposal to have their second annual League Dinner with their fans at All-Con. While it is expected to pass (because you all give them such WONDERFUL support when they're in attandance) it should still be noted that it is planned but not yet approved.

On a separate note: Our point of contact at Assassination City, Trigger Mortis, is down!! She leg is broken in eleven places and she will not be skating, possibly for the rest of the season. If you would like to send a get-well card to Trigger, please send it to our mailing address in Crowley and we will forward it directly to Trigger. That address is: All-Con, 910 S. Crowley Road, Suite 9 - PMB 518, Crowley, Texas 76036.

Laser Tag Equipment Has Arrived!
June 24, 2008

If you read the 2008 program closely, you saw that we ordered some professional laser tag equipment for the 2009 convention and -- IT'S HERE. We'll be trying it out at convention promotions and socials throughout the year as well as having some free game play at All-Con in March. Watch for us to host a table or room party at other events for your chance to stop by and take us on!

ConGirl Make-Over
May 30, 2008

Johnathon Caustrita joins the ranks of Chris Albright, Scott Trotter, and Adam Hughes for the distinction of having reimagined All-Con's signature hero. Our 2009 heroine is none other than Tiki Colada's 'Kat' dressed to kill! (or rather... to save.)

Star Wars Attacktix!
April 29, 2008

Last year we had an hour of open play and then a mini Star Wars Attacktix tournament. For a first time out, it was pretty good. Next SPring at ALL-CON we're going to upgrade to ''Impressive'' ... ''Most Impressive''. Send the word out. If you're into Attacktix, you aren't going to want to miss the expanded content for 2009. Along with extended open play and instruction All-Con will be offering multiple tournament formats.

Dealer's Room Sign-Up #1!
March 25, 2008

Celtic Chrystal will be returning to All-Con for their fourth consecutive year. Their jewelry is 90% hand made. Sterling silver is the main ingredient in most pieces. Almost anything can be done in gold if requested. The jewelry is made using natural stone, Swarvoski crystals, Bali sterling beads, Czech glass and sterling components. Most pieces are one of a kind, and most can not be reproduced exactly. Great pride in taken with the work and anything created will have been made with skill, dedication, and knowledge.
